“shadowrealm” is a series of works that express the non-linear and speckled experience of dreams and desire through razor-etching techniques on scratchboard.

Small, intentional scratches are made against a black scratchboard with reflective paper underneath - alluding to the results of intentionality, small decisions, and blind faith in commitment to a desired outcome.

Darkness is necessary to give the subject three-dimensional form. Just like how gaps exist between atoms, and nothing is actually 100% solid on a molecular level, the lines are not fully connected in these works - allowing the form to exist with breath and without barriers.
