PORTALS I & II

are sculptural extensions of my performance art piece, reconflection.

Despite these works being made from non-decomposing, inanimate material, I consider them as living sculptures, as what is reflected through the mirrors relies on its audience and the ever-changing light.

From viewer to viewpoint, what’s perceived never remains the same. PORTALS are the physical manifestation of a deconstructed and reconfigured reality captured in real-time.

Since each mirror within the mosaic is fractured from a different lifeline, each portal offers a blend of dimension and texture that cannot be commodified. Every piece of the portal has its own history, offering its own unique perspective that cannot be perfectly replicated.

This translates into an unlimited amount of realities possible for the viewer to create as they engage their own fractured reality.
